Our Space
Getting families outdoors is at the root of everything we do! Our space is designed with a variety of outdoor zones that invite children to move, explore, create, and discover—connecting with nature and farm animals.
From gross motor play and balance challenges to climbing, building, and open-ended, child-led play, each area encourages children to test their limits, take manageable risks, and grow their confidence. We believe time spent outdoors directly supports healthy development in all areas.
Children can follow scavenger hunts, let their imaginations run free in a treehouse, create in the mud kitchen, explore water play, tend to planters, and safely use real tools—developing meaningful, hands-on life skills in a supportive environment.
A special part of Rooted Acres is time spent with our farm animals, where children build empathy, compassion, and a deeper understanding of responsibility.
We’re excited to be welcoming chickens to Rooted Acres in June 2026! With their arrival comes farm-fresh eggs, available as supply lasts. Eggs can be picked up right at the farm, or for convenient city pick-ups, will be at PROCARE Family Centre.
Our chickens are sure to bring smiles, laughter, and a little extra magic to your visits. From watching their quirky personalities to joining in on the classic farm game of “can you catch a chicken?”, these moments create unforgettable, joy-filled experiences for children and families alike.
Parents, we invite you to enjoy the farm in a way that feels comfortable—whether observing from our peaceful viewing area or playing alongside your child. Getting messy is part of the experience, so bring a change of clothes!
